DVD Commentaries

I love movies and I especially love commentaries. So I got myself a microphone and produced some of my own. I do commentaries alone (or with my dog) with Region 1 DVDs and post the results in MP3 format with a bit rate of 64.

As a movie lover in general, I try to call out the similarities and differences in the film I'm commenting on to other films in the same genre. I try not to spoil those other films, but you never know. I'll try to warn you first.

For other commentaries, I recommend our sister site: Zarban's House of Commentaries.

If you wonder about microphones, I used a Logitech USB desk mike for these, but I've now purchased a nice Samson CO3U, which has better bass response and consistently captures cleaner sound.

6. The Wizard of Oz

One of the best films ever. Little Judy Garland tries to get home in this 1939 classic of classics.

5. The Sentinel

2000 adventure/psycho-drama Schwarzenegger extravaganza... uh... also.

3. Total Recall

1990 adventure/psycho-drama Schwarzenegger extravaganza.

2. Foul Play

Goldie Hawn takes a chance in this better-than-you-remember-it 1978 romantic comedy thriller.

1. Casablanca

My favorite film. The 1942 classic. You must remember this....

Firefly series & Serenity

Commentaries for all 14 episodes of Joss Whedon's short-lived work of genius and the film that almost made up for its short life.

La Dolce Vita

Special edition: Federico Fellini's 1960 Italian classic. I record my first viewing... and I pretty much hate it.
